Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There is a mark on each leaf where it has rubbed as it was pulled out and both leaves are a slightly different color from the main top as so often happens in this type of table where the main top gets light and the leaves do not. Handsome vintage MCM Scandinavian Modern style teak extending coffee table with sliding top, white Formica square center with gold leaves, and a lower slatted shelf. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The coffee table has been taken apart, reglued, Danish oiled, and reassembled. We are here to help!! This is a stunning vintage coffee table comprised of a solid teak frame with a teak veneered extending top attributed to Remploy. This fabulous expansion design consists of inner grooves and the two top halves have pins that stick in those grooves and slide up and apart to expand the tabletop AND reveal a gorgeous square Formica lined square surface adorned with little gold leaves! An ideal place to set a beverage or vase of flowers. The wood has a beautiful variation of the natural tones inherent to the aspect of the wood… it is phenomenal! It also has a very useful slatted shelf below the tabletop… perfect storage for books, magazines, or maybe a tray for your remotes! Whether closed or expanded, its quintessential Scandinavian Modern design is sure to bring a bold statement with a Danish flair to any room in your home. Remploy is an organization in the United Kingdom which provides employment placement services for disabled people. Historically, it also directly employed disabled people in a number of factories owned by Remploy itself and subsidized by the UK government however, these were phased out at the start of the 21st century. It opened its first factory in 1946 and over the following decades it established a network of 83 factories across the UK making a variety of products. Remploy underwent a major change to its operation at the start of the 21st century and branched out into providing general employment assistance for disabled people, and others with barriers to employment. After the closure of most Remploy factories, the provision of these assistance services became Remploy's principal purpose. In March 2015, it was confirmed that Remploy would become owned by US service provider Maximus. Transfer of ownership was completed in April 2015. Phenomenal all glass modern dining table attributed to The Pace Collection with only a single brass plated connector on the pedestal base. It is in fabulous vintage condition. There is one small chip in one of the glass legs, but it is under the connector and cannot be seen. There maybe small scratches that we have not noticed. Please see photos. Circa 1970s. Note: Dog not included but it is dog approved! I have loved this table since the 1970s. Well not this exact one but all the different forms of this table attributed to The Pace Collection. Comprised of five slabs of ¾ inch thick glass. One for the tabletop and four that, along with a single brass plated steel connector, form the pedestal base. Simple. Sleek. Elegant.
