Mel Smilow Walnut Slat Table
About the Item
A Mel Smilow (1922-2002) designed solid walnut slat table. Wonderful oiled walnut featuring that signature splined corners, cross cut color contrast sides and removable tapered legs. Flat pack design. These are great accent tables or small benches for anywhere in the home or office. Minimalist and refined design. Circa 1958-64.
Smilow was a designer in the Smilow-Thielle firm, that produced well made and affordable interior design and retailed in the New York Metro Area and Washington, D.C. Their flagship store was on Lexington Avenue, NYC.
Good overall condition. Structurally sound and sturdy design. Original low luster oiled finish. Some minor bumps, bruises, scuffs and scratches. No visible splits or cracks.
Approximately 18" deep x 28" wide x 13.5" high.
