Pair Vintage Italian Brass Faux Bamboo Side or End Tables Style of Mastercraft
About the Item
A vintage circa 1980's (but possibly earlier) pair of Italian faux bamboo brass tables with inset glass tops. The oval form has a lip that accepts the glass top. The tubular, faux bamboo structure sits just below the lip. The four tapered tubular, faux bamboo legs have slightly splayed feet. The pair of tables has a wonderful scale. And if you're wondering about why faux bamboo is so popular, I'd love to share a little history with you from online, "The French began copying the bamboo look from the Chinese during the mid 19th century as it was a welcomed, whimsy change to heavy Victorian designs, but the Chinese were making faux-bamboo furniture since at least the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)." This pair of tables, with their incredible nod to history, will surely look beautiful in your interior.
