Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this super rare, one of a kind, circa 1850 Malby & Co London Burr Walnut chessboard table with green baize card playing surface and unique 3D made of Switzerland by Bauerkeller Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price A very rare example, I have never seen this type of 3D map before, it is 170+ years old and wonderfully patinated as you can see. The table is all in burr walnut including the chessboard top, if you flip that top over you have the baize card playing surface The legs and pedestal are equally decorative and the legs are finished with solid brass castors, this table is really a work of art, you will never find another like it Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it, there will be normal age and use related patina marks here and there, the map is all original and has discoloured as you would expect, really it looks exactly the same as any unrestored map from this era Dimensions Height:- 70.5cm Width:- 77cm Depth:- 61cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
