Pair of Antique Hand Carved Wooden Figural Pedestals of Neoclassical Figures
About the Item
This pair of antique pedestals are unsigned, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1900 and done in a Neoclassical Revival style. The pedestals are composed of a hardwood that have been hand-carved to depict a Neoclassical male and female carrying possibly water over their respective heads, where to rounded tapered top of the pedestal is positioned. The carvings are done on both sides so can be used in the middle of a room such that both sides are visible. The pedestals stand on a sculptured base and are very stable and could be used for displaying sculptures or used as plant stands.
