Rough Low Square Chestnut Pedestal
About the Item
For wood lovers this piece is a master natural piece!
It is made of a big chunk of an old chestnut tree, at least 60 years as testified by the great numbers of rings. Each pair of light and dark rings adds up to 1 year of growth for the tree. The light rings typically form in spring and early summer, while the dark rings form in late summer and fall.
This big chunk was cut square. It has a long crack running from the middle to one of the edges. It shows that the wood did not like to be transferred indoor.
