Mid-Century Modern Lucite & Smoked Glass Streamlined Bar Cart on Chrome Castors
About the Item
This sophisticated Mid-Century Modern bar cart was realized in the United States circa 1970. Influenced by Art Deco- a design epoch that experienced a great resurgence in popularity during this period- this refined bar cart offers streamlined sides (as well as a trolley handle) in solid translucent lucite. The bar cart offers a rectangular smoked glass panel floating on top of the piece- offering a beautiful tonal and material counterpoint to the lucite employed throughout. The interior for the piece has a streamlined u form rack with six circular depressions (ideal for storing glassware or bottles) as well as a shelf offering additional storage. This streamlined rack is secured to the body of the piece with rectilinear lucite supports. The bar cart sits on four spherical chrome castors, which adds both a dynamic design element and a functional one, making it easily ferried throughout any interior setting. With its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending with any style of decor from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
