19th Century Gueridon with Satyr Heads

About the Item

Oval gueridon featuring a marble top. The purple brocatelle marble originates from Spain and is ringed by a gilt bronze rim decorated with intertwined foliage on a dark blue background. Satyr heads are placed at the top of each of the slender table legs. The top of each leg is decorated with a foliated, gilt bronze capital and a spiral of flowers descends each leg, which ends in a hoof. A gilt bronze strut connects the legs and is intricately sculpted with acanthus leaves, a crown of laurels and a pine cone, circa 1880. Dimension: L 60 cm, W 37 cm, H 75 cm.
