19th Century Italian Table of Mahogany and Painted Architectural Scenes of Rome

About the Item

Constructed in a good flame-veneer mahogany, with gilt metal mounts; rising from a tripartite incurved base mounted on castors, issuing three entasis form cylindrical columns, gilt metal mounted at their capitols and bases, which support the circular glazed platform, inset with a watercolor painting, of five of the major principal views of Rome, including St Peter’s Square, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps and the Arch of Constantine. Signed by the artist, F. Valenti. Italy, circa 1820.
