Antique 19th Century English Regency Warm Brown Mahogany Occasional Table

About the Item

A beautiful English occasional or side table with a solid mahogany top that rests on a turned central baluster-shaped column. The central column ends in a quadriform platform with scrolled feet. The platform base is made of solid oak covered with mahogany veneer. The apron underneath the top shows a faux drawer flanked by hand-carved acanthus and C-scroll motifs. The table has a warm dark brown color with deep gloss and the wood shows a distinctive grain pattern of mahogany. The table has been repaired in our workshop. The table shows some age-appropriate wear with a few scratches on the top. Minor repairs to the veneer of the platform base were done. The joint between the column and the top was fixed and the whole pieces were gently cleaned and a new protective wax layer was applied. The table is in very good and solid antique condition. Note: the mahogany wood used on this side table is Swietenia Macrophylla. This wood species is not affected by CITES and can freely be shipped across borders.
