Capri Side Table by Studio Sam London

About the Item

Capri Side Table by Studio Sam London Dimensions: W 40 x D 45 x H 45 cm Materials: Arabescato Oro Marble and Liquid Metal The Capri side table is inspired by the rocks of Capri, represented by the solid marble slab that meet the sea on a early morning sunrise, represented by the application of the liquid metal in the base and top detail. The Capri table is ideal as a sculpture or lamp stand, but even as an aesthetic object in its own right. All our marble pieces are made from a range of available stones which we select depending on size and availability in order to keep the production process as sustainable as possible. Founded in London by its Creative Director Alessandra Melchiorri, Studio Sam creates furniture pieces with a unique identity. Every product is made in Italy and tells a story of impeccable craftsmanship techniques. We take pride in our strong relationship with the finest Italian artisans and we are constantly striving for the essence, Studio Sam is a reflection of a family business over the past 50 years. Originally from Italy, Alessandra studied Architecture at Central Saint Martins in London and worked at internationally renowned interior design studios, gaining extensive experience designing projects across the globe. Alessandra believes that the use of pure materials translates into clean and timeless design. Comfort, durability and authenticity are the prime components of our work. A definite relationship between architecture, interior design and Italian heritage has been the driving force behind the conception of Studio Sam.

Studio ANANSI, founded by Evan Jerry in 2018, represents a reection on modernity with a nod to the Afrocentric elements that have been missed or masked in contemporary design. Evan’s Caribbean heritage and global education is pronounced in the studio's collections, with the name ANANSI itself being taken from West African and West Indian folklore. The beloved and omniscient character of Anansi is a mythical character known in many fables to be a god of knowledge and storytelling. Anansi is renowned for nding transformative ways of turning relative weakness into strength and virtue. Being raised in Canada, the importance of an ancestral character like this who protects history and knowledge became an important inuence on Evan. In turn, the practice of representation and transformation becomes evident in what is produced through his vision. Evan and Studio ANANSI oer a clever and confronting understanding of all our connections to prologue through sculptural, and architectural storytelling. Studio ANANSI has collaborated with renowned American furniture brand...

  • Códice Side Table by Agnes Studio

Codex or Códice means in latin a chunk of wood, it’s also used to refer to hand written manuscripts. Mayan and Mexica Codices were written in wood bark, mostly in pictorial Glyphs, but also using a numerical system that consists of dots and dashes and a special symbol for zero. In this series we wanted to translate and abstract this idea of the knowledge and essence of a Códice; the importance of communication and its evolution through time, through the wood carvings both in its geometrical and systematic patterned repetition of its drawer in contrast with the organic and random carvings made by the artisanal technique of “conchitas, hand chiseled by master artisans in Antigua guatemala.
