The MoCollection is a Brooklyn-based design studio offering custom and standard furniture and home goods. Founded by Max Orenstein in 2020, the studio emphasizes quality materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and designs intended to be simple, yet thought provoking. With no formal schooling, Max taught himself how to work with wood and metal as well as 3D model. He found his passion in making - spending every free hour learning about tools, materials, and design. Max’s design philosophy, learn from making, has two facets to it: the first is that building prototypes is the fastest way to great design. While sketching and 3D modeling are important tools, building mock-ups and iterating challenges the designs early and shortens the development time. The second is that working with your hands to develop craft skills brings great joy. The ability to make the objects you need is liberating and worth sharing.
