Crescent Moon Side Table

About the Item

This side table is inspired by the outline of a crescent moon, which brings a lot of meanings behind it. With its own characteristics and essence, the crescent moon brings with it an energy of action and expansion: we feel more willing and eager to act, to accomplish. It is this soul that we seek to translate here. Combining aesthetics and function through a simple, and at the same time, sophisticated design, produced in natural wood veneer in American Oak.

By Gabriela Campos, Estúdio Mais Alma

A' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2023 This piece is a tribute of the work "A Lua" (1928), by Tarsila do Amaral, who played a key role in the emergence of Brazil’s modernism movement, with her unmistakable signature, and its vivid colors and rounded shapes. The painting was purchased by MoMA in New York in 2019, established the Brazilian artist in the scene of the most relevant and eternalized international modern painters. The intention was to recreate its soul, bringing through shapes and colors harmony, through a fluid and organic design. The landscape that stretches against a waning moonlit night is delicately embodied in a small brass...
