Japonisme Lacquer Round Occasional Table Parcel Gilt Decoration
About the Item
Elegant lacquered occasional table with a Japanned finish featuring parcel gilt decorations in the Japonisme taste. The round table is supported by gracefully curved European style legs that conjoin in the center to a round cylindrical dowel. The top, apron, and legs are decorated with parcel gilt scrolled designs. The top of the table is centered by a stylized lotus leaf design. The lacquer has a desirable aged patina with minor losses that adds to its character. The table is sturdy with good joinery and old repairs. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
