About the Item
The black variegated marble with its tan and gray veins make this Louis XV style low table stand out. The antique vintage provincial walnut marble-top low table was made in Camden, New Jersey by the J.B. Van Sciver Company. It is a gorgeous piece.
The table has a J.B. Van Sciver company label that was used from 1881-1932. The acanthus carving on the legs, the acorn finial and the patina on the walnut all make this piece particularly attractive.
The shaped top with rectangular marble inset panel, on reeded serpentine rail, raised on carved cabriole legs, is joined by a serpentine X-stretcher centering an acorn finial. The table is in wonderful antique condition without scratches or dings to the wood--a beautiful vintage piece.
