A Pair of Boars Head Tables

A pair of marble topped side tables. The design inspired by William Kent with central boars head, lion masks, oak leaf garlands and acanthus carved cabriole legs on oversized hairy paw feet.

These tables were made by the exceptional workshop of Jonathan Sainsbury, an expert in period furniture and the designs of some of the great makers, William Kent, Robert Adam, Thomas Hope, Matthias Lock and Thomas Chippendale. His workshop is highly regarded and specialises in producing the finest quality hand-carved furniture copied directly from period examples or pattern books. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding and understandably attracts clients worldwide.

Jonathan Sainsbury also offers a full advisory and bespoke service that includes architectural mouldings, door surrounds and decorative items and is able to offer a fully bespoke finishing service to include water gilding, specialist aged paint finishing, all to the particular clients taste.

Working very closely with top international designers, private clients and the National Trust in the UK, the Sainsbury workshop has created pieces for super yachts, classical country houses, London and world-wide residences and singular bespoke one off commissions for private and interior designer clients.

Guilded represents one-off pieces by Jonathan Sainsbury that are prepared and sold as photographed. However we welcome enquiries for bespoke finishes, scaling and designs on their behalf and route these to the workshop. As well as common enquiries for bespoke finishes to existing designs and one-offs, the workshop recently completed the advising and furnishing of a major period Scottish home after its architectural restoration. On the other hand requests are welcomed for unusual contemporary interpretations of period designs of any period.
