"As a self-taught artist, my dedication and effort are focused on making monochromatic images that speak to me and others in what I truly believe is a kind of provocative serenity. My influences are primarily everything I see, feel, and experience; part of my process, as I understand it, lies in my admiration and love for the inherent beauty of simplicity and boldness conjugated in works of art made through simple materials such as charcoal, graphite and acrylic. I try, with each work, that each one relates their own memories, evoking their own lives, always leaving the final sensation of their own interpretation. The challenge, as with any work, is not only to make it speak for me, but to make visible the powerful relationship between perception and expression, which form a sense of what in essence, is oneself."
