Antique Italian Figurative Pietra Dure Panel

About the Item

Antique Italian figurative pietra dure panel Italian, 19th century Measures: Height 18cm, width 14cm, depth 1cm This beautiful pietra dure panel depicts in the Renaissance style two figures engaged in a dance: a man yielding a horn steps in rhythm to a woman holding a drum. The figures, which stand on a green-yellow faux ground, are crafted entirely from inlaid segments of multi-coloured marble. The natural veining of the variously coloured marbles accents the form of the figures and their dress.
