House of Erte 8 inches decorative fine porcelain plates. Here is a stunning, 6 limited edition porcelain plates produced in 1990 by Sevenarts Limited, in West Germany. Original decorative limited edition porcelain plate realized in the 1990s. Set of 7 Plates all in excellent condition, no original boxes, each of them with attached certificate of authenticity. All are between 1985 and 1995, time frame. The back of the plate reads: “The Franklin Mint Heirloom Recommendation, Royal Doulton House of Erte presents: "The Queen of the Night" Limited Edition Fine Bone China Plate No. Royal Doutlon England”. This plate was produced by Royal Doulton, an English ceramic manufacturing company founded in 1815. Diameter 8” 1: Beauty and the Beast 2: Queen of the Night 3: Diva 2 4: La Merveilleuse 5: Glamour 6: Symphony in black 7: Athena. About Erte: Erte, whose real name was Romain de Tirtoff, was a highly influential Russian-born artist and designer known for his significant contributions to the Art Deco movement. He was born on November 23, 1892, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and later became a French citizen. Erte's pseudonym comes from the French pronunciation of his initials, "R.T." He was a versatile artist with talents spanning various artistic mediums, including fashion design, costume design, jewelry, set design, graphic arts, and more. He gained widespread fame for his elegant and glamorous fashion illustrations that epitomized the Art Deco style. During the 1920s and 1930s, Erte's work became synonymous with the luxurious and opulent aesthetics of the Art Deco era. The redoubtable British ceramics maker Royal Doulton has long embraced popular tastes and enjoys a devoted following among aficionados of English pottery. Some are drawn to the company’s intricately decorated bone china dinner services; others are passionate collectors of Royal Doulton’s artfully hand-painted vases, bowls and figurines.

When founded in 1815 in the Lambeth section of suburban London, Doulton & Co. produced bottles and other storage containers and even sewer pipes in stoneware, a cheap but durable cousin of porcelain. Amid the Victorian era’s rising concern for hygiene, food safety and sanitation, the company flourished. And in the late 1870s Doulton expanded its business into the applied arts.

The firm took over a factory in Staffordshire, in northern England — the traditional home of British ceramics manufacturing — to produce tableware. Around the same time, Doulton opened an art-pottery studio in Lambeth, where vases, urns and other forms were decorated with painted scenic images, flowers or historical motifs. Taking a cue from the venerable Meissen porcelain workshops in Germany, Doulton artisans began crafting figurines modeled on characters from literature and theater. The firm also helped popularize Toby Jugs and other “character mugs” — handled cups shaped as the heads of figures from folklore and popular culture. King Edward VII granted the company the Royal Warrant in 1901.

Prices for dinner services vary according to size, age and condition, but generally range from $2,000 to $15,000.
