Italian Mid-Century Terracotta Hand Decorated Street Scene & Fountain Tile

About the Item

An Italian mid-century hand crafted signed terracotta tile decorated with a street scene with a fountain in colored enamels. The tile of tall rectangular shape has an incised outline filled in matt black with the sections in between hand-painted in thick brightly colored enamels. The tile has a small undecorated section to the lower edge which is indistinctly signed and has a molded makers crest to the back and is marked MADE IN ITALY. In good condition with a few minor glaze losses to the corners and edges.
