Japanese Antique Bamboo Hat/1868-1920/Folk Tools/Wall Hanging Decoration

About the Item

This is a traditional Japanese hat. Japanese people wear hats like this to protect their heads from the hot sun. Farmers and people who traveled long distances needed such hats. I think it is an item from the Meiji to Taisho period (1868-1920). The material is bamboo or silvervine. It is very finely torn and carefully woven. The shape is also artistic. Designed to be light and airy. There are some parts that are cut off. But overall good condition. It looks very beautiful when you hang it on the wall. Highly recommended item. Things like this are becoming rarer and rarer in Japan. We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and leave them behind. Weight: 0.2kg Size (when hung on the wall): W44, D19, H46 cm.
