Mixed-Media Collage on Old Ironing Board Triptych
About the Item
Three vintage wooden ironing boards are linked together with beautiful old hinges to create a church-like triptych; then intricately collaged and painted in a phantasmagoria of pattern, lacey bustier and blouse, clothes pins, bits of zen Buddhist text, and imagery inspired by the Zen phrase, "After Ecstasy, the Laundry". This is self taught artist Fay Sciarra's meditation on "being in the moment", "the divine in the mundane" and other wise words to live by.
Wired to be hung, or can be freestanding. Adorned on back side as well.
