About the Item

Exceptional arrangement in polished and rusted steel for a famous Art gallery, rue de Seine, Paris. Yonel Lebovici realized in 1987 at the request of Jacques de Vos art dealer, for the interior layout of his gallery. The floor and walls will be clad with steel slabs. On the ground, set of polished and rusty steel slabs, approximately 29 x 29 inch and 29 x 21 inch, about 13.4 inch2. On the wall, metal patinated steel plates, 29 x 30 inch, about 14.2 inch2. Several saddles, wall shelves and magnets clashes complete the layout : - Supports of different heights in oxidized steel and glass shelves - Removable wall shelves in chromed structure and thick glass slab Important: each slab is independent, so you can arrange all as you wish in your space. Here you will find photos of the layout and the archive of the gallery. BIO: Yonel Lebovici (Paris, 1937-1998). After obtaining his diplomas in aeronautics and from the National School of Applied Arts he took drawing lessons at the Grande Chaumière. In 1969 he opened his studio and created various furniture and objects including the famous Satellite lamp composed of methacrylate discs in the center of which is placed a perforated sphere in chromed steel, which diffuses an incandescent light through 3 holes and in the thickness of the discs. His industrial studies gave him the mastery of the perfect technical execution of his "functional sculptures" as he likes to call his creations. In 1970 he held a booth at Saint-Ouen and exhibited his achievements. Lebovici is a member of Atelier A and the group MOB 6 created by François Arnal. He works until his death in 1998.
