About the Item
Vibeke Alfelt was born in 1934 as the daughter of the artist couple Else Alfelt and Carl-Henning Pedersen. Vibeke Alfelt made her debut as an artist at the age of 14, when she participated with her father in the Cobra group's decoration of the Bregnerød cabin. Her early pictures had the landscape and animals as motifs.
She was a member of Pro from 1974 to 1985, and as a self-taught visual artist she made her debut in 1951 at KE (Artists' Autumn Exhibition). Since then, she worked for the rest of her life with the horse as a consistent, expressively stylized motif in paintings, graphic magazines and also sculptures.
Vibeke Alfelt passed away in 1999.
The present work is a rarely seen early piece.
