Acryl on Canvas, Noor Knip, 1990

About the Item

Colorful and playful painting by Noor Knip in acrylic on canvas, 1990. We are in love with the work of Noor Knip and are very pleased to see that so many of the black and white were sold the last year. This new series of much more colour form 1990's is now available as she has decided to sell them too. More to follow soon but this is a very nice one. The larger mid centre part shows some animals such as a dog and birds, surrounded by a framework of several weird creatures. Can you see what they are? The work of Noor Knip is characterised by using complimentary colours depicting abstract or semi abstract animals (existing and non existing). She is definitely not afraid to use colours and our clients always come back with the story that her art work 'counterbalances so well' for the more flat colours in their living rooms. The living rooms finally 'come to live'.

  • Cubistic Tapestry or Carpet in Wool and Silk, France, 1930's
    By Sonia Delaunay
    Located in Amsterdam, NL
Art Deco cubistic carpet / wall tapestry in wool and silk, France, 1930’s . Measures: (332 x 195 cm) This well preserved tapestry that can also be used as a carpet (no shoes allowed) comes from a meeting room from the head office of Philips Electronics in Eindhoven. It comes out of a meeting room and it is truly in an amazing condition. The silk has been very well preserved and the colours really stand out. The black colours work very well almost as a catalysator for the blue and red and together they create a great play between shapes and forms and different materials and colours. The well chosen symboles make this tapestry a pleasure for the eye. In real life much nicer than on the picture. We tried to give you a better understanding of its appearance by putting it in a few settings. Hopefully this helps. More pictures on request. And oh yes, the amazing black and white art work is by Noor Knip...

  • Set of Three Large Wall Panels by Stefano d'Amico, Italy, 1974
    Located in Amsterdam, NL
Set of 3 large wall panels by Italian sculptor Stefano d'Amico (varying in width from 86 to 92 cm.) in ash and brass designed and dated, 1974. There is not so much known about D'Amico's work apart from that he held expositions in Milan and Genova in the late 1960s and that he was a sculptor, born on Sicily. We found him in a book and his other work is also interesting and shows quite some resemblance with this work. These particular cabinets were custom made for a house in Venice, where they come from. This set of wall panels...
