Biedermeier Reverse Glass Painting, Silhouette Portrait of a Lady

About the Item

Biedermeier reverse glass painting with silhouette Portrait of a lady in a lavish robe. This fine and decorative work is almost monochrome. Only the scarf and the headgear are polychrome in gold and blue. It is an interesting reflection of the fashion of the time and is also extremely decorative, since the reduced style of the work can be combined with many interior styles. The condition is a bit battered, the white background color is peeling off slightly, the frame has a break and it is only fixed with tape from behind. It has been deliberately left in its original condition.
