About the Item
Decorate an office or study with this large watercolor painting. Created in Paris, France circa 1930, and set in a gilt carved frame preserved with protective glass, the artwork titled “Paris Les Boulevards”, depicts an iconic Paris district, the corner of Boulevard des Italiens and Boulevard Haussmann. The drawing is signed in the lower right corner by the artist, Frank Will (1900-1951). The vintage painting is in excellent condition, set in a beautiful frame and adorns wonderful colors and details.
Frank Will, aka Frank William Boggs, was born in 1900, in the Seine-et-Oise region of Northern France to the American painter Frank Myers Boggs and his French wife. He studied painting in the studio of his father in the rue de Clignancourt Paris, later giving up his architectural studies to devote himself entirely to painting. He specialized in depicting scenes of Paris, mainly in watercolor, and was associated with the École de Montmartre, together with his close friend, the artist Gen Paul. Frank-Will had many solo exhibitions in Paris, most notably at the Galerie George Petit in the 1920s, Galerie Hector Brame during the 1930s and at the Galerie Henri Bureau thereafter; he also participated in group exhibitions internationally. F. Will died in Paris in 1951.

Frank Will
Frank-Will (1900-1951 Fr.) is the son of the American painter Frank Myers Boggs who was born out of wedlock while his father was living in France. His name Frank was taken from his father and Will from his grandfather. His military service during the war had the job of painting ambulances and other vehicles and was a true bohemian living in Montmartre attending all the local dance halls and a close friend of Gen Paul.
