Attributed to Federico Ballesio (Italian, 19th Century) a fine Italian watercolor and gouache on paper "The Courting". The finely painted watercolor cellar scene depicting a seated maiden playing guitar, a joyful Musketeer standing by the side drinking wine. Signed: Ballesio. A brass plaque on the giltwood frame reads: Ballesio. Signed, circa 1890-1900. Measures: Height 21 inches (53.4 cm) Width 14 1/2 inches (36.8 cm) Frame height 25 inches (63.5 cm) Frame width 18 1/4 inches (46.3 cm) Depth 1 3/4 inches (4.45 cm).
