About the Item
Oil painting on stretched canvas of a nude woman at seashore by Helen Ratkai ( American, 1914 - ? ) Well regarded painter who studied at the Art Students League under Yasuo Kuniyoshi. She exhibited in NYC during the 1940's. Appears to be a very faint signature bottom left corner under distressed white gray painted old wood frame ? Paper tag with information on reverse. In frame measures 23 3/4 inches wide x 19 1/2 inches high x 1 1/2 inches deep. Painting image size canvas is 17 3/4 inches wide x 13 1/2 inches high. Provocative moody mysterious imagery.
