A stunning large oil by the accomplished and noted New York City Artist Marianne Stikas. This painting is signed and dated on the rear red sulphur and dated 1988. Abstract painting by the noted Italian artist Mario Titi. From a prominent Palm Springs estate. We have an associated smaller painting that is signed on the verso in script, with the artist’s full name. This painting is signed Titi on front. It is framed in a metal period frame that is quite elaborate with an inner metal part. The frame has some scratches on it and could be polished. The liners are not perfect but it is period so we left it as is. From Wikipedia the following; Mario Titi (1921-1982) was a painter of the Roman and Castelli Romani artistic scene of the 20th century; his works are shown in churches and museums of the Lazio, and all over the world. Expressive abstract relief in white by Dutch artist Henk van Putten (1936-2019) Van Putten called himself a constructivist in the tradition of Vladimir Tatlin, with whom he shared not only aesthetic principles but also social commitment. For example, almost everything he made in 3D is made up of several parts; glued, welded or screwed together. In his paintings, which he often made prior to the 3D version, he even painted the seams where they would appear in the later work. Van Putten’s work, although easily recognisable, shows a clear affinity with artists he admires such as André Volten, Gerrit Rietveld and more generally with ‘De Stijl’.
