Mid-Century Large Oil on Canvas Self Portrait of An Artist, European
About the Item
The focal point of the painting is the artist himself, sitting confidently before his Chevalet - an iconic wooden easel - as he diligently works on a new masterpiece. Dressed in a vibrant red shirt, the artist's presence effortlessly draws the viewer's attention, becoming the heartbeat of the artwork. The juxtaposition between the artist's traditional craft and the modern, mechanical world outside symbolises the clash between artistic expression and industrial progress. The canvas is in good condition with only a small shrinkage of the canvas in the lower bottom right corner, it is barely noticeable as a whole. The painting has been recently reframed with a dark brown chocolate colour contemporary double frame.
