Beautiful work of art, gouache on paper, by the Belgian female artist Jo Verbestel. It is a portrait of a mythical figure / fantasy figure, in a somewhat psychedelic style. The painting is dated 1968 and also fits well with the zeitgeist. The painter is framed in a simple wooden gilded frame behind glass with a pink passe partout. An original and colorful work of art that is fascinating to look at. the whole is in good condition. About Jo Verbestel: Josette Verbestel worked in the second half of the twentieth century and was a member of the Flemish artists' society in Gosselies. She was a painter, drafts woman, illustrator and gouachist. She painted nudes, landscapes and still lifes, in her compositions she leans on the world of dreams and fantasy. She participated in various exhibition in the 60s.
