A pair of 19th century Indian erotic gouaches depicting copulating couples engaging in different positions. The actions of the couples juxtaposed with the calm demeanor on their faces makes these gouaches quite amusing, compelling, perhaps arousing?
Based on the Kama Sutra and Ratirahasya, the India manuals known as 'The Secrets of Love'. A unique decoration for a bedroom, boudoir or bathroom.
Each in a stunning rosewood frame with open fretwork and brass inlay, as well as gilt borders. A photocopy of the back of each page attached to the reverse.
Measures: 11.75 inches high 13.75 wide framed.
