About the Item
Andy Warhol portrait taken in 1968 by master photographer and printer Philippe Halsman (1906-1979) and in 1989 an edition of 100 portfolio of eight color chromogenic prints were done which sold out. This print is a proof from the artist archive. Halsman is represented in most of the major museums including his works of Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot. His friendship and subject artist Salvador Dali led to one of his most famous photos "Dali Atomicus" in which the artist, his canvas, furniture, cats and water all appear suspended in air. Archival matting in a satin white frame with UV glass for protection and ready to hang. This important image was used for the cover of Life magazine.
