Cost of insured transport to the US crate included is Euro 925. About the photo As it was early November, the grass at high altitudes had turned yellow. At this time of the year the sun would rise from the direction where it would cast its light over these alpine meadows in the Italian Dolomites. Since I wanted to see this place during sunrise, it meant we had to set our alarm for 03:00 AM. Next, we had a one and a half hour drive ahead to the start of the hike. We started our hike around 04:30 AM in complete darkness. During the next two hours it remained pitch black. The experience was surreal, taking step after step, turn after turn not knowing what surrounded you. The altitude and the lack of sleep certainly contributed to it. After having hiked for over two hours twilight started and we were finally able to see our surroundings. Half an hour later we reached the top, being greeted by the first rays of sunlight. Seeing a place during sunrise or sunset often is special as the sun will cast this soft golden light across everything it touches. Standing here around 2500 meters with the cliffs dropping a few hundred meters is truly breathtaking. About the print The photo is printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper Maxima / 220 grams. The photo is mounted on a dibond plate. On the backside of the dibond plate there is a frame from which the photo can be hung. The photo is displayed under 3 millimeter thick acrylic glass. About Christiaan Nies Christiaan is a self-taught photographer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His photography focuses on travel, adventure and the outdoors.
