Original vintage advertising poster for The Saturday Evening Post magazine issue 10 June 1939 featuring wildlife artwork by the watercolour painter Jacob Bates Abbott (1895-1950) of a frog swimming in a pond and looking at a dragonfly on a lily pad with the title text above and contents promotion below - An illustrated weekly founded AD 1728 by Benj. Franklin 5c. / Below the Belt by Stephen Early Secretary to the President - a collection of press documents, files and papers, including political and personal letters written to and by Franklin D. Roosevelt. From 1933 to 1945 the American journalist Stephen Tyree Early (1889-1951) served as the 3rd White House press secretary to President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945). Good condition, several restored paper losses on left margin, staining, backed on linen.
