Original vintage bicycle advertising poster issued by Hercules Cycles for the Queen's coronation featuring a colourful illustration of the Royal procession with the horse drawn Gold State Coach being led by Beefeaters and Royal guards in front of crowds of spectators and flags flying between trees, a red and gold banner above reading God Save Our Queen Long May She Reign with a blue plaque in the centre reading Queen Elizabeth II Coronation 1953 and the Commonwealth countries listed on both sides below flags of the countries, an image of a shiny new bike next to the text below - Millions of Riders of Hercules Cycles in the great year of 1953 unite throughout the world in expressing greetings to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh - set within a decorative border. The British Hercules Cycle and Motor Company was founded by brothers Edmund and Harry Crane in 1910; during the 1950s cyclists broke records, won the Olympics Games and formed a road race team on Hercules bicycles; the company was dissolved in 2003. Horizontal. Very good condition, creasing.
