Original vintage World War II recruitment poster for the USCG United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve (known as SPARS from the Latin USCG motto Semper Paratus / Always Ready): Make a date with Uncle Sam, Enlist with coast guard spars, apply nearest coast guard office. Stunning image by the renowned artist Bradshaw Crandell (1896-1966), showing a glamorous young lady wearing a US coast guard uniform proudly walking next to Uncle Sam as she looks out towards the viewer, the text above and below in stylised blue and red letters. Excellent condition, faint stains on margins, backed on linen.
