About the Item
Antique print titled 'Schetsblad voor plaat XIV - Croquis pour les planches 14'. Sheet with four scenes of 'ring riding', a folkloric tradiation where the contestant tries to aim a lance through a ring. This print originates from 'Nederlandsche Kleederdrachten naar de natuur'.
Artists and Engravers: Engraved by R. de Vries. Drawn by V. Bing and Braet von Uberfeldt. Jan Braet von Uberfeldt (1807-1894) was a Dutch painting master, artist and lithograph. Piet Mondriaan was a student of Braet von Uberfeldt.
Condition: Fair/good, general age-related toning and some soiling. Minor wear, blank verso. Please study image carefully.
