Framed Lithograph by Robert Combas, Signed. Edition 43/90

About the Item

We present you this original print by a renowned contemporary French painter and sculptor, Robert Combas. This is an original print created in 2016 using a mixed media technique that involved 15 lithography passes and embossing on Vélin de Rives paper, weighing 400 grams. The print run for this album consisted of 90 numbered copies, ranging from 1 to 90, and 20 artist's proofs. This piece is numbered '43'. It has been expertly and professionally encased in a fine black frame. The framed dimensions are 59 x 48. Robert Combas, born on May 25th 1957 in Lyon is a French artist known for his unique and diverse creative works. He has contributed significantly to the art world, especially in the use of mixed media and lithography techniques. He is a key figure in the figuration libre movement that emerged in Paris around 1980 in response to established art norms, particularly minimalism and conceptual art. Combas' art predominantly features the human figure in wild, tumultuous scenes, typically on large, unstretched canvases. His work teems with a profusion of bodies, street art, and patterns reminiscent of folk and outsider art. He weaves chaotic narratives of war, crime, sex, celebration, and transgression, capturing the ever-changing facets of modern life. Recently, his work has taken on a strong autobiographical dimension, a departure from its earlier, more subliminal approach.
