Hand Coloured Framed Engraving of Kingfishers in the Audubon style, Mid 19th C
About the Item
This is a hand coloured framed engraving of a study of Kingfisher birds all in the manner of Audubon Birds of America and dating to the Mid 19th Century.
The study shows four Kingfishers, three of which are different types with one pair of birds. The engraving has been hand tinted / coloured producing a very bold picture. Each of the three types of Kingfisher are labelled with a number code, with " ad naturam" to the lower right corner and CCCCLXXV11 in the top right corner.
The engraving has been newly framed ready to hang.
