A fine, professionally framed original Japanese woodblock print attributed to the master Utagawa Kunisada (1786 – 1865), also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III; ink and color on paper. Edo period, circa 1859. This is original Utagawa Kunisada Original Japanese Woodblock Print or Nishiki-e print, depicts actors out of a traditional Kabuki theater piece that was popular in Edo Japan. Utagawa Kunisada (1786 – 1865) was the most popular, prolific and commercially successful designer of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. In his own time, his reputation far exceeded that of his contemporaries, Hokusai, Hiroshige and Kuniyoshi. This Utagawa Kunisada Original Japanese Woodblock Print will enhance any setting.
