The amazing result defies the impossible: the 90-degree twist, contortion of a wooden plank, a form in fact achieved by the ancient art of wood-carving. This walnut console is also available upon order in limed oak and ebonized mahogany. Over the last decade Dublin native Carol Egan has built up a sterling reputation as one of the world’s leading interior designers, working on prestigious corporate projects and luxury residences across the United States, Europe and Asia from her Manhattan-based firm, Carol Egan Interiors. Since 2012, Carol Egan has developed a line of contemporary, Minimalist furniture. Shelves, wall and freestanding consoles, stools, benches, coffee tables, mirrors: these sculptural pieces are produced using 3-D modeling software and then each one is individually crafted by hand. ‘As a designer, I’m interested in digital technology,’ says Carol. ‘I am fascinated by the process of creating complex geometries using 3-D printer software to make prototypes during the design process.
