Georgian Woolwork embroidered picture of a castle by a Lake. The embroidery is worked in wool on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches. Pictorial scene depicts a castle by a lake. Figures in the foreground under a tree. A boat sails on the lake and there is a boat on the shoreline. Framed in an old, possibly original rosewood frame with glass. Mounting: The embroidery is tacked to a wood stretcher frame. Frame backed with chipboard. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Good. No holes. A couple of thread losses in top right corner. A few slightly loose threads in places. Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined. Frame has some wear, but is presentable and could be hung 'as is' in our opinion.
