19th Century French Hand Carved Wall Panel

About the Item

19th century French hand carved wall panel will make a splendid addition to your fireplace mantel, atop a buffet or console, or just as a free hanging decoration! The three dimensionality of the work creates impressive visual appeal. One notices a Gothic architecture yet with Renaissance influence in the center subject depicting a pair of storks holding atop a bounty-of-the-earth swag upon which two angels are resting while holding a circular medallion. The timeless scrollwork on the corner pilasters combine with the spire points of the finials and the castellation across the top for a Gothic style effect. Note the intaglio vine motif bordering the entire central sculpture. hand carved from solid oak to last for centuries! circa 1890s Measures 30H x 54W x 4D.
