About the Item
This Branching Porcelain artwork was handmade by Olivia Walker in her studio in Dartmoor National Park in England. All of the porcelain shards are individually made by hand, and applied to a natrual lime plaster surface, creating a branching flow of porcelain shards that spread accoss the surface. Olivia's pieces are inspired by natural organic forms. This range is inspired by the branches of trees and plants that split and grow.
Olivia colours her porcelain with a mix of oxides that work together to create a light and subtle off-white that interacts with light beautifully. As the light changes throughout a day, the shadow of the porcelain shards shifts and changes, making these pieces feel alive and and vibrant.
This piece is framed with waxed brass.
