Contemporary Wall Mounted Sculpture from 'Delta' Series by James Rowland

About the Item

A piece from the 'Delta' abstract sculpture series by James Rowland made from Brazilian hard wood with brass inlay. Scottish Artist and furniture Designer-Maker James Rowland of Knót Artesanal is treading a new path in search of organic forms inspired by the abundant nature found in his local surroundings on Brazil's Atlantic coast. James's work mixes tones, forms and volumes to instill a sense of movement, creating pieces in which each hand carved curve plays with light and shadow to reflect the natural beauty of the wood. The contemporary artworks display the similar Minimalist characteristics seen in his furniture designs mixing organic and modern through clean lines and delicate curves.

Komodo is a statement of functionality, a modernist style nightstand that has been stripped back to its most minimalist elements. It is strikingly simple yet uniquely original. Being wall mounted, Komodo frees up floor space usually occupied by the traditional four legs, it also means that it can be installed at any height depending on the style of bed it accompanies. It was designed with various angles in mind in order to reduce it to the most basic structure necessary to accommodate overnight items. Installation is simple with it being mounted via two screws that slot into its rear remaining hidden, the manual provided includes a template for the screw positions. Handmade from Brazilian Hardwoods Freijó and Muirapiranga. Knót Artesanal...

  • 'Lin' Minimalist Stool in Brazilian Hardwood by Knót Artesanal
    By Knót Artesanal
Located in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro
Lin is derived from a clean and minimalist take on a traditional three-legged stool, giving it a thoroughly modern appeal and Scandinavian feel through its brass details and slender appearance. The brass line on the seat marks the join in the wood and as such is different on each making them all unique. Light yet robust it’s a perfect combination of structure and aesthetic. Made from a range of Brazilian solid hard woods with a natural finish of oil and wax. Knót Artesanal...

  • Modern Geometric Mixed Metal Dimensional Wall Sculptures by C Jere Series of 4
    By C. Jeré Artisan House
    Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous modern series of four geometrical dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere, unsigned but easily documented online. Comprised of steel, brass, and copper. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are scratches on all 4 sculptures, a ding on one, and we have replaced 2 triangular bent metal pieces. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, late 20th – early 21st century. Oh yeah… it’s hip to be square!! And in this case, that is definitely true!! This is an awesome series of four-square dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere displaying various unique and abstract geometric designs comprised of steel, brass, and copper arranged in the center of each metal square. C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. This series of four is a MUST have for any wall that needs a bold statement piece, touch of Modern style, or simply an intriguing, phenomenal piece of artwork! Position them to your preference and change any wall from being bland, to BOOM! They would be wonderful side by side in a row of four however, I envision them stacked one on top of the other in a large square. Maybe over a fireplace, on a wall in a tall entry way, or on a primary wall in your living room. If you’ve been looking for the right touch of Modern or Industrial edge to welcome into your home… you just found it! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in mid century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...
