About the Item
The wall hanging is identified on the verso as "Piece with lava and shells" and is signed and dated '75. The frame has a painted copper finish. Miriam Rogers was an artist that lived on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and created mosaic art using stone objects, many of which she found locally and on the beach. This mosaic incorporates lava stone, agates, marble, a piece of tiger's eye and a seashell. In 1961 she published "Miriam Rogers - Poetry in Stone" exemplifying her work.
