ORIGINS
SAWDUST & SOFTWARE Origins is an artistic studio practice based in Vancouver BC, led by Deagan McDonald. Deagan holds a Masters of Architecture from the John H. Daniels Faculty at the University of Toronto, and has worked in the field for the offices of KPMB (Toronto), Kengo Kuma & Associates (Tokyo), and Michael Green Architects (Vancouver). The studios primary medium is solid wood, with growing branches of exploration into ceramics, glassware, and metals. The work explores the tactility of surface, and ultimately the manipulation of light and shadow. The work resonates a strong sense of place within the Pacific Northwest, often referencing the landscape and atmospheric resonance of the region. The work blurs boundaries - it is intrisically minimalistic in spirit while delivering maximal impact. The pieces sit quietly, softly, and grounded yet command attention. Every piece in the collection is designed to align the potential of the digital with the skill and the intuition of the hand, uniting playfulness in form with precision in execution. Origins embraces the juxtaposition between the precision of technological craft and the uncertainties of the organic.

- Modern Geometric Mixed Metal Dimensional Wall Sculptures by C Jere Series of 4By C. Jeré Artisan HouseLocated in Topeka, KSGorgeous modern series of four geometrical dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere, unsigned but easily documented online. Comprised of steel, brass, and copper. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are scratches on all 4 sculptures, a ding on one, and we have replaced 2 triangular bent metal pieces. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, late 20th – early 21st century. Oh yeah… it’s hip to be square!! And in this case, that is definitely true!! This is an awesome series of four-square dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere displaying various unique and abstract geometric designs comprised of steel, brass, and copper arranged in the center of each metal square. C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. This series of four is a MUST have for any wall that needs a bold statement piece, touch of Modern style, or simply an intriguing, phenomenal piece of artwork! Position them to your preference and change any wall from being bland, to BOOM! They would be wonderful side by side in a row of four however, I envision them stacked one on top of the other in a large square. Maybe over a fireplace, on a wall in a tall entry way, or on a primary wall in your living room. If you’ve been looking for the right touch of Modern or Industrial edge to welcome into your home… you just found it! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in mid century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...Category
