About the Item
Inspired by the popular antique arcade game 'Snake', the Cobra Bangle is a comical reflection of our modern life. The 'snake' manoeuvres in a line that grows in length. With the line itself being a primary obstacle, it aims to grow and avoid running into itself. If we take a step back and compare the game to modern life, we can see a comical similarity between the two.
The Cobra Bangle combines semi-precious stone and hand-painted enamel to create an architectural and Art-Deco style of jewellery. Edward took inspiration from Cubism art and Brutalism architecture to create a truly unique and avant-garde style of jewellery. The Cobra Bangle portrays a snake chasing its tail yet never touching it, just like the game.
The Cobra Bangle is a made-to-order item handcrafted using 100% recycled 18k rose gold. The gemstone is natural, ethically sourced and carefully selected by designer and founder Edward Xu, then set by hand in our London workshop. Each enamel block is hand-painted by our artisans with great precision. This bangle is tested and hallmarked by the London Assay office. The bangle features an open-ended design which allows you to adjust the size slightly. You can also provide your personable wrist measurements to us to create a customised size.
